Manager-International Operations POSITION DESCRIPTION:

PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF POSITION
The international operations manager will oversees foreign Exploration assets, Supervises foreign operating subsidiaries and partner with local/foreign partners for doing oversees exploration activities.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Acquires overseas exploration and production assets individually or through joint ventures;
Supervises foreign operations subsidiaries;
Ensures preparation of all foreign geological programs and in collaboration with the Chief Geologist and Chief Geophysicist to
participate in the preparation of geological and geophysical programs;
Ensures plans and budgets for foreign geological and geophysical projects are prepared;
Ensures preparation of promotional materials and documents for meeting with international oil companies for possible joint ventures;
Assists the tender Board where appropriate in the selection of contractors and service companies for petroleum exploration projects.
Ensures directorate's participation in joint venture and production sharing agreement negotiations;
Evaluates results and presents them to the Director of Upstream Operations;
Ensures safety and efficiency in petroleum exploration programs in compliance with best international petroleum industry practices;
Ensures that the overseas acquired data and materials are transmitted and maintained in the TPDC Data bank;
Advises the Director of Upstream Operations on the selection of geophysical consultants, acquisition contractors, processing contractors and contractors for borehole surveys;
Ensures the structural and geological interpretation of data and advises the Director of Upstream Operations on attractive prospects and drilling locations;
Ensure that contractors and consultants engaged in geophysical data acquisition meets the Corporation's requirements on quality,
safety to personnel and environmental protection;
Prepares exploration programs, plans and strategies both short-and-Iong terms;
Prepares project cost estimates and budgets;
Ensures the department is properly equipped with geophysical instruments and equipment that are properly maintained;
Liaises with the Director of Finance to ensure that Joint Ventures and Production Sharing Agreements are monitored technically and financially through audit programs;
Liaises with Exploration Manager and Production Manager to support logistics in petroleum exploration, development and production operations;
Ensures marketing of petroleum products at delivery point;
Undertakes any other related duties as may be assigned by superiors from time to time.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
Direct Entry Qualifications:
Holder of a Master's Degree in Petroleum Geosciences/Engineering or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution. A holder of PhD degree in the relevant academic field will be of added advantage.

WORKING EXPERIENCE
At least 10 years' experience of which 3 years must be at senior level. Proven high administrative and managerial ability in the oil industry and knowledge of international oil business is essential.
