The project, which started on April 30, 2025, is expected to be completed on September 11, 2025.
This year, Nyang’hwale District Council has received Sh100,996,200 to implement the construction of four classrooms, and purchase furniture to address the challenge of classroom shortages.
Speaking at a ceremony to receive Uhuru Torch, which coincided with the laying of the foundation stone of the school, the Leader of Uhuru Torch Race, Mr Ismail Ali Ussi, commended Barrick Bulyanhulu for continuing supporting the government to improve people’s lives through the implementation of development projects in various sectors of the economy, including education.

“I take this opportunity to commend all experts of the Council and Barrick Bulyanhulu Mine for working day and night to ensure Tanzanians benefit from various projects which are implemented in this district,” Mr Ussi said.
Thus, he appealed to all Nyang’hwale residents to send their children to school. “There is no longer an excuse for long distances to school because schools are built everywhere and this is due to the collaboration of the Government and stakeholders like Barrick. Indeed, Barrick, you are supportive of Hon President Dr Samia Suluhu Hassan,” said Mr Ussi.
He explained further that the partnership shown by Barrick through its mines in the country is a clear indication of productive investment for the nation, and he urged other investors to emulate Barrick spirit by contributing to community development projects.
For her part, Nyang’hwale District Commissioner, Hon Grace Kingalame, stressed the importance of working hard and continuing with the spirit of implementing development projects at high standards to meet people’s needs.

She emphasized that Barrick, through its Bulyanhulu mine, has been closely cooperating with them in all development projects for the broader interests of the country social wellbeing.
Barrick Representative at the event, Mr Samson Mashala, who is Community Relations Officer at Bulyanhulu Mine said the mine would continue working with the Government to ensure CSR projects were well-implemented to improve people’s lives. “This project is going to address congestion, and improve a study environment,” he said.
He added that the project has reached 85% of its completion and will boost students' learning environment and contribute to positive outcomes in the education sector in the country.
The project, implemented through the force account system, is expected to reduce the problem of classroom shortages, overcrowding of students in classrooms, and promote a friendly learning environment.
