Communications Officer - Dar es Salaam, Tanzania
Posted on 11 June 2015The DFID-funded Education Quality Improvement Programme in Tanzania (EQUIP-Tanzania) aims to support 47 districts in their efforts to produce a better quality of primary education for more than two million children in over 3700 primary schools.
We currently need a Communications Officer to manager and deliver the day to day information and communication of EQUIP-Tanzania. Proactively identifying opportunities to support the programme outputs, revising the information and Communication strategy under the guidance of our International Communication Advisor.You will be responsible for managing the information and knowledge produced across the programme, working closely with managers and technical advisers to understand the communication requirements and maintaining EQUIP-Tanzania’s website and social media presence. Additional duties will include the management and delivery of campaigns, messages and materials and the draft and design of printed documents and publications.
You will be educated to degree level or equivalent ideally marketing, social communication or public relations. With experience gained within a programme environment you will be able to demonstrate an understanding of working within a sector development programme. You will have excellent communication and written skills and be proven in the ability to create compelling copy from technical information, draft news releases, content for leaflets and letters.
