TOKYO — Parts of a tunnel collapsed Sunday on a highway west of Tokyo, trapping an unknown number of vehicles as smoke from a fire inside initially prevented rescuers from approaching.

Police vehicles are parked at the entrance as smoke billows out of the Sasago Tunnel on the Chuo Expressway in Koshu, Yamanashi Prefecture, central Japan, Sunday morning, Dec. 2, 2012. Kumekucha mabilioni ya Uswisi

SERIKALI imeamua kuunda kikosikazi kitakachohusisha Idara ya Usalama wa Taifa,  Polisi wa Kimataifa (Interpol) na Taasisi ya Kuzuia na Kupambana na Rushwa (Takukuru) kwa ajili ya kuanza uchunguzi kuhusu  Watanzania wanaotuhumiwa kuficha kiasi cha Sh314 bilioni nchini Uswisi.

Hatua hiyo ya uchunguzi inatokana na Bunge kutoa maazimio ya kuitaka Serikali kufuatilia sakata hilo katika kikao chake kilichopita mjini Dodoma na kutoa majibu katika kikao cha Bunge cha Aprili mwakani.

Akizungumza na Mwananchi Jumapili jana, Mwanasheria Mkuu wa Serikali, Jaji Frederick Werema alisema, “Tuhuma hizo siyo jambo dogo na Serikali haiwezi kuzipuuza, sasa tunachukua hatua madhubuti.”
Jaji Werema alisema kuwa Serikali imeshapiga hatua katika kufanya uchunguzi huo.

“Tumepiga hatua katika suala hili, ila ukianza kusema sana utakuwa unaharibu. Tumeamua kuwa na kikosi maalumu cha upelelezi kitakachoshirikisha Idara ya Usalama wa Taifa, Taasisi ya Kuzuia na Kupambana na Rushwa (Takukuru) na Wizara ya Fedha na wachunguzi binafsi wakiwamo Polisi wa Kimataifa (Interpol) pamoja na Benki ya Dunia (WB).
