Admission of Diploma holders into Higher
Education Institutions for the academic year 2013/2014.
The Tanzania Commission for Universities (TCU) hereby informs
all University institutions that the admissions of all diploma
holders will pass through the Central Admission System (CAS)
.
All university institutions which are yet to submit diploma results
of their former diploma students to TCU/NACTE are requested to submit them as soon as possible in order to avoid problems to your former students during application for admissions into higher education institutions.
All University institutions are advised to abide to these directives
as the Commission will not approve or recognise applicants with
diploma qualifications who will be admitted through individual
institutions.
Categories of diplomas that will pass through CAS are as follow:
i) All ordinary diplomas (NTA level 6);
ii) All diplomas in teacher education;
iii) All diplomas (non-NTA level 6) offered by Tanzanianinstitutions and have been recognized by TCU/NACTE;
iv)All diplomas from outside Tanzania which have been
recognized by TCU/ NACTE.
University institutions are required to admit other categories of
equivalent qualifications such as:
i)Holders of post-Form VI certificates of one year and above offered by universities or professional bodies such as NBAA and PSPTB (former NBMM) that have been recognized by TCU or NACTE.
ii) Bachelor degrees related to the sought programme eg.B.Com and B.A. Economics
.
Thus announcements which have already been issued by institutions such as Mzumbe University and Arusha Institute of Accountancy are hereby amended accordingly.
NOTE
: All diploma holders are advised to follow these instructions in order to avoid unnecessary inconveniences.
