UGANDA: Government to deregister 900 private schools
At least 867 private secondary schools are likely to have their licenses withdrawn after they missed last year’s census, Education ministry officials said yesterday.
An undisclosed number of government-owned secondary schools, as well as public and private primary schools could also be affected by the move, which would force them to shut down, leaving hundreds of thousands of students stranded.

KENYA: DPP team to probe IEBC
The Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) on Wednesday formed a team to assist investigate the failure of the Electronic Voter Identification (EVID) and Results Transmission System (RTS) in the March 4 elections.
On Tuesday, the Supreme Court released their presidential petition judgment in which they recommended that technologies used by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to collect and transmit the election results be investigated.
