case adjourned
The case against the man
charged with impersonating a senior police officer failed to proceed on
Wednesday after the Magistrate who was supposed to hear the matter was
transferred.

Waiganjo was coming up for hearing before Nyeri Principal Magistrate Clarence
Otieno who was transferred on Tuesday.
UGANDA: 6,000
teachers back on government payroll, minister says a total of 6,000 civil
servants, most of them teachers, have been reinstated on the government
payroll, months after they were declared “ghosts” and deleted, ministry
officials have said.
Junior Public Service minister
Seezi Mbaguta yesterday told Daily Monitor that out of the 7,000 government
employees who were declared “ghosts’ by the Auditor General mid-last year,
6,000, mainly teachers, had been reinstated.
RWANDA: Seven Held Over Grenade Hurled
Into Family Home
At least seven people were
arrested, yesterday, in connection with a grenade that was hurled in a home in
Mutenderi sector, Ngoma district, on Sunday.
No one was killed when the
grenade was hurled into a family backyard, but two middle-aged women were
seriously injured.
