KENYA: Do not fight over land, says National Lands Commission
The National Land Commission on Wednesday took office with an appeal to Kenyans to avoid fighting over land during the General Election.
The Commission said it is equal to the task before
it and therefore no Kenyan should lose his life on account of land grievances.
UGANDA: Improved performance as
females post better results
The Uganda National Examinations Board reported an
improved performance in last year’s Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education,
with girls posting better results.
Out of 111,456 candidates who registered for the
2012 exams released yesterday, 109,974 sat for the exams compared to 102,296 who
sat in 2011. According to Mathew Bukenya, the Uneb executive secretary, there
was a lower failure rate, which has been declining over the years.
RWANDA: Over 3, 000 Teachers to
Enter the Labour Market
More than 3, 000 primary teachers are expected to
turn up on the labour market following the release of the Teacher Training
Colleges National examinations results.
The exams were released by Kigali Institute of
Education (KIE) after it assumed the responsibility of examining and
coordinating teacher colleges. The task was formerly held by Rwanda Education
Board (REB).
