  URS is one of the world's leading engineering and environmental consultants, offering professional planning, engineering and architectural design, environmental, construction and programme and construction management services throughout the UK and internationally. You will be joining a well-established and experienced team in one of our larger offices. We are currently recruiting for an Analyst/Economist to be based within our Infrastructure, Economics and Planning (IEP) team in our London office.

The IEP team mainly works with private sector clients, and with URS internal teams, example projects include:
• Feasibility study for Mtwara Port, Tanzania
• Assessment of the impact of the expansion of Rome Fiumicino Airport on the Regulated Asset Base and regulated revenue
• Feasibility study for tidal energy in the Mersey Estuary
• Socio-economic impact assessment of High Speed 2 London to Birmingham high speed rail line
• Economic impact and modelling assessment of Buchanan Quarter Tax Increment Finance proposals

As Analyst/Economist, your role involves carrying out financial modelling, cost and economic analysis, project support, research, report writing, client and stakeholder interaction, and supporting the team's business development strategy with an emphasis on commercial feasibility. Your work will cover a range of fields including: PPP/PPI advice, market studies, sector studies, feasibility studies, business plans, internal model auditing, due diligence and market research.

You will degree educated to MSc or equivalent in a field such as economics, mathematics, business or other relevant fields. You will have a good understanding of project finance, and will ideally have experience in the infrastructure sector, with preferences for ports/rail/road/power/waste sectors. You should have a familiarity with project appraisal techniques and project finance documentation and it is desirable to have a knowledge of property development/planning/regeneration fields.

You will have exceptional analytical and quantitative skills and modelling experience is essential. The will also have the ability to analyse and interpret a range of data and information, as well as having excellent report writing skills. You will also have excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office, to include Word, Excel and Outlook.
