UGANDA: Museveni abuses uniform -Besigye
Former Forum for Democratic Change president Kizza Besigye has responded to a wide range of issues raised by President Museveni last week, accusing him of telling lies about NRM achievements.

Dr Besigye yesterday in a statement issued yesterday described the NRM government as a dictatorial regime, adding that Mr Museveni’s continued donning of the military uniform at non-military functions was meant to intimidate the people whenever he is faced with challenges.


KENYA: Marathon voter education programme launched

A crash programme on voter education has been launched in a race against time to ensure Kenyans understand the election dynamics.

The Ministry of Justice, Independent Election and Boundaries Commission (IEBC), Transition Authority and religious bodies launched the crash programme just three weeks to the General Election.


RWANDA: Rwandans Rally Against ICTR Acquittals

Hundreds of Rwandans this week took to the street to express their anger against recent decisions by the Appeals Chamber of the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda (ICTR), to overturn the guilty convictions of two former cabinet ministers.

The demonstration came days after some Genocide convicts who served under the 'genocidal' regime for the better part of their 100-day blood-soaked realm also raised concerns.
