Tanzania International Container Terminal Services Limited (TICTS) is a member of Hutchison Port Holdings Group (HPH) of Hong Kong. Hutchison Port Holdings (HPH), a subsidiary of the multinational conglomerate Hutchison Whampoa Limited (HWL), is the world's leading port investor, developer and operator. The HPH network of port operations comprises 320 berths in 52 ports, spanning 26 countries throughout Asia, the Middle East, Africa, Europe, the Americas and Australasia. Over the years, HPH has expanded internationally into other logistics, transportation-related businesses. These include cruise ship terminals, airport operations, distribution centres, rail services, and ship repair facilities. In 2012, the HPH port network handled a combined throughput of76.8 million TEV worldwide.
We are seeking applications from suitably qualified, motivated individuals to fill the position of Operation Supervisors in our Operation Department.
Overall Purpose of job
The successful applicant will be responsible to lead a team of a particular working area and responsible for efficiency performance of the area.
Duties and Responsibilities:
To read, understand and observe the various Company guidance procedures (Operations / Safety / Finance /
Engineering / Staff regulations etc), to prepare reports required at a particular working area and submit to the Terminal Manager, to ensure safety is observed by all staff working under him/her, to report to the Manager incidences/ accidents happening while on duty, also fill in the incident report from accordingly and to perform any other duties as may be assigned by the Manager.
Qualification and Experience
Applicants should possess Degree in Business Administration or its equivalent in relevant field with at least 2 years' operational experience preferably with Terminal or shipping experiences at supervisory level. He /She must be computer literate with a good command on MS office applications, good communication skills in both written English and Kiswahili together with the ability to work long hours.
