Position Description:

Amara Selous is looking for a Booking and Marketing officer to handle all bookings as well as promoting Amara to the local and African market. The position is full time from 08.00-16.30 Monday-Friday with 2 working Saturdays a month 08.00-13.00. However, when needed the candidate will be required to work outside the normal working hours. The place of work will be at the main office on Haile Selassie next to Colloseum. You will be sharing an office with 1 other person.

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
·         Handling all enquiries from the African market by phone and email
·         Servicing our representative in the UK with invoices, flight bookings and any other issues he requires
·         Invoicing and following up on payments
·         Developing and keeping in-house records (booking vouchers, booking & payment records etc.).
·         Promoting the camp to the local and African market:
o   Connecting with new tour operators
o   Sales training of tour operators
o   Preparing for and attending travel shows
o   Occasional travels for meetings, sales training and tourism fairs
o   Designing of adds for print and web
·         Maintaining and developing relationships with African tour operators and other stakeholders
·         Handling flight bookings and transfers
·         Occasionally meeting clients at airport or hotel for meet & greet
·         Traveling to the camp when the managers are on leave (3 weeks leave every 3 months) and there are important guests at camp.
·         Making offers and specials for the local market

Required qualifications:
·         Fluent in English – both written and spoken
·         At least 1year of experience from a similar role
·         A relevant education from a recognized institution
·         The ability to prioritize tasks and work with deadlines – all enquiries and mails from operators MUST be answered within 24 hours, all flight bookings MUST be confirmed and tickets sent to the client/operator within 48 hours
·         You should be outgoing and have good networking skills

Compensation:
·         Salary after qualifications
·         Office car for full time use with monthly fuel allowance to cover work related usage

·         Commission on sales
