Position Description:
Our client based in Dar-es-salaam is looking to recruit a financial controller for their medium enterprise.
S/he will report to the Managing Director.
The financial controller role will implement and maintain all financial controls and systems within the business, identifying and recommending potential operational efficiencies and improvements to working practices and procedures.
S/he will be entrusted with the overall planning and overseeing all financial activities in accordance with the IFRS and GAAP.
Duties and responsibilities:
-Develop systems and procedures to ensure the efficient and effective management of the company's finances. This includes:
-Developing and controlling a centralized accounting system to ensure that accounts are effectively managed.
-Keeping abreast of changes in financial regulations and legislation and preparing financial reports required by the law.
-To ensure full compliance with statutory tax legislation. This involves observing statutory deadlines and proper interpretations of the provision laws.
-Maintain the accounts payable and accounts receivable systems in order to ensure complete and accurate records of all moneys.
-Evaluate financial reporting systems, accounting and collection procedures, and investment activities, and make recommendations for changes to procedures, operating systems, budgets, and other financial control functions.
-Review collection reports to determine the status of collections and outstanding balances.
-Develop the forecasting models (P&L, Balance Sheet and Cashflow)
-Administer and prepare the payroll in order to ensure that employees are paid in an accurate and timely manner.
-Reporting to the PlumpyField coordinator, particularly annual assessment indicators for the members of the network.
-Full responsibilities for all bank and cash functions.
-Other duties as assigned by the managing director.

-Hold Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or any related field. A Master’s Degree will be an added advantage.
-Must possess CPA/ACCA
-Have 3-5 years of experience in finance & accounting in a food processing industry
-Able to use Excel and accounting software, basic use of communication tools for instance FAGE peach tree
